Faculty II - Institute of Mathematics / Department of Stochastic Analysis
Research Associate (PostDoc) - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen - 2nd qualification period (for taking up a full professorship for the first time)
part-time employment may be possible
Tasks
Work in research and teaching at the Institute of Mathematics (Stochastic Analysis), including supervision of seminars and lectures, teaching of exercise classes (4 SWS for a full-time position), co-supervision of Bachelor and Master students/theses.
The research comprises several fields, including conservative stochastic PDEs, singular SPDEs, mathematics of machine learning, interacting particle systems, nonequilibrium statistical mechanics, stochastic fluid dynamics.
We aim to investigate questions of well-posedness, regularity, qualitative behavior, equilibrium and nonequilibrium large deviations and their numerical simulation. In the mathematics of machine learning we focus on universal limits, stochastic learning dynamics, and generalization errors.
Requirements
- Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent)
- At the time of hire, proof of completion of doctoral degree in mathematics, with a focus on stochastic analysis, PDEs, or mathematics of machine learning must be submitted
