Research Assistant – salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen - 1st qualification period (PhD candidate)

The Department of Information Integration and Data Preparation (D2IP) conducts basic and applied research in data integration, data pre-processing and data science. We are currently seeking research assistants (PhD students) in one or more of the following topics:
(1) Researching technologies and systems for detecting data errors in massive datasets. (2) Researching scalable methods for generating data preprocessing workflows. (3) Researching systems and technologies for efficiently finding datasets in large data lakes.
The position serves your own scientific qualification (doctorate) and includes teaching. This entails organizing and conducting courses, possibly tutorials and internships as well as the supervision of student work. You will also support study counseling and assist in conducting and organizing exams.

Applicants must have an outstanding university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in Computer Science or related field of study with a focus on data management, data integration, or scalable data analysis. They should have solid theoretical and practical knowledge in computer science.
The ability to teach in German and/or in English is required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills

Desirable:
Ideally, applicants have in-depth knowledge of database technologies, as well as additional knowledge in machine learning, neural networks, and RAG technologies.
