Tasks
The selected Research Assistant will have opportunities to work in an enriching interdisciplinary environment, with significant potential for broad impact in terms of technology development, industry involvement, and educational initiatives. The candidate is expected to develop an independent research program around the topics of interest in the CommIT chair (Prof. Caire), focused on 6G-oriented research, advanced wireless communications, massive/holographic MIMO, cell-free networks, integrated sensing and communications (ISAC), mathematics and algorithms for inverse scattering and computational RF imaging. Research also focuses on deep learning methods applied to communication, channel and source coding, and statistical signal processing problems.
Possibility of preparing a PhD thesis.
Requirements
- Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in a field related to Science of Information, for example: Information Theory, Communication Systems and Networks, Channel Coding, Source Coding, Statistical Signal Processing, Machine Learning, Communication/Computer Networking, Convex/Combinatorial Optimization, Graph Theory and Stochastic Geometry, Deep Learning methods and algorithms
- Candidates must have a professional background and preferably some already published work in one or more areas related to the research agenda of the Chair
- Good knowledge of German and/or English required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills
